On September 18th, "Fiestas Patrias", people eat meat pies (empanadas) and barbecue meat (asado). People who participate in Folk groups will dress as "huasos" (farmers/ranchers/cowboys) did in the 19th century in rural areas. The women married to landowners dressed in a long black skirt and jacket, while the the wives of the farm workers (chinas) wear colorful flowered prints.
At present, only small children (under 10 years old) wear the traditional outfits.
Dear Jeanne
Thank you for your answer. We are happy and they are very helpful information for us.
Do you do special things in your house?
